+ How do I book All Dolled Up for my wedding?
Our first step is always to direct you to the form on this website, found under the Contact tab. We ask that you include important details such as date, location and an estimate of how many girls will be needing services. Once submitted, it goes right to our inbox and we will respond directly to your inbox, typically within 24-48 hours. If we are available, we will send you a copy of our contract so you can review our policies and see if we would be a good fit for your big day.
To offically book, we collect a retainer per service and per person as well as our booking fee and applicable additional artist fees. , These amounts hold your date and are nonrefundable and nontransferable under any and all circumstances. Once the contract is completed and returned and the fees are processed, your day is confirmed in our calendar!
+ How are owner level makeup applications different than senior applications?
Jen is our owner and Head Doll. She has been in the bridal industry for 20 years, honing and perfecting her skills while providing brides the highest level of attention and care. As an esthetician as well as a makeup artist, Jen starts your bridal morning with a mini-facial and sheet mask before she begins your application, as well as addressing any stray hairs to ensure a truly flawless finish. Jen doesn’t offer airbrush applications, as she prefers the customized experience that traditional makeup allows.
Your service starts with changing into a wrap so that she can also address your neck and decollete to ensure a perfect color match as well as a bridal glow. Your morning means everything to our team, so keeping an easy and uplifting ambiance is extremely important. Without wanting to rush your service, please allow us about an hour + for bridal application.
+ How long will my party take?
This changes in respect to each group of girls. Typically, we take about 30-45 minutes per application and our artists work simultaneously. Once your day is booked in our calendar, we’d love to give you a more exact idea of how long your party will take us, and if you provide us a time that you’d like to be finished with beauty then we will figure out a start time. We try our best to cover all our bases and think of things you might not – we’ll ask if you’re doing a first look, what time you’ve discussed with your photographer, what time the venue will let you in, etc!
+ Should I do trials?
We always encourage booking trials! Trials are not only a great way to do a test run of your dream styles, but they are also a time for us to get to know you and what you envision for your big day, from beauty to dress to flowers. We’ll hand you a flute of bubbly or cup of tea and become fast friends! If you are coming for a hair trial, you can bring any hair pieces or extensions you hope to incorporate (you don’t have to bring your veil) and your hair should be completely dry! Trials take place in our salon; we usually recommend doing them 6-8 months before your wedding, and getting them scheduled a few months before that. We ask you to bring photos of inspo, and we want to know what you definitely don’t like too! Do you hate red lips? Do you love a smoky winged liner? Scour Pinterest and Instagram, save those photos and let’s get to know each other!
+ Is there anything special I should do to prepare my skin for my wedding day?
Healthy skin: make sure you cleanse and exfoliate accordingly leading up to the big day! We offer both full hour and mini facials and would love to get you on an appropriate schedule if that’s something you’re interested in! Smooth skin: be sure to take care of unwanted facial hair. Waxing should be done 3-5 days before your wedding day, depending on your skin’s typical reaction. If you get easily irritated, we want to give your skin time to calm down! We offer a non-irritating option with our lead esthetician Jen, which not only removes facial hair but also very gently exfoliates your skin making it primed and prepped for the best possible makeup application! Just ask us! Hydrated skin: be sure to drink lots of water!
+ Should I do airbrush or traditional?
It’s totally up to your preference! Our owner, Jen, does not do airbrush applications. Years ago, when airbrush makeup became popular within the bridal world, it gained a reputation for being the only option for a long lasting, flawless finish. Traditional makeup applications and products have come such a long way since the beginning days of bridal makeup and some of our artists prefer the finish and customization that a traditional application allows. If you have your heart set on an airbrush application, we will do our very best to book you with an artist who can accommodate all your wishes!
+ Will my makeup last all day?
We prep the skin first to ensure your look lasts all day and night, as well as set it after the application with specific products designed to make it stay put. We also will recommend purchasing the lipstick decided upon at your trial to allow you to reapply that after quick kisses and dinner!
